Happy New Years from wadiSLAM! Long Time No See!
Hey everyone! IT's everyones favorite slammaster Lisa. School has been a bit crazy, so slam has been on the backburner(shame on me) Anyways, the birthdaySLAM! went well despite the blizzard of snow we had, so many people couldn't come=( But still, good turnout! Good News for the New Year!!! We have two slams coming at ya in Feb! On Wend. Feb 11th at 9 pm, we are having a verrrry special slam. It will be the slam that decides who will be on the national team this year for wadiSLAM! Nationals is this August in St. Louis. Trust me kids, this is a big thing. Its the superbowl of slam. Anyways, its so late, because it is uncensored, and since Wadi Cafe is a all ages place, we had to wait till the kids are in bed. Also it is on a week night, because we have poets from all around traveling to get on the team, and we had to work around schedules. And get this, double dose of slam in one week! That friday, the 13th wadiSLAM! is having a Jilted Lovers SLAM! A slam about love; the good, the bad, and the ugly. It will be at 7:30. So there ya have it! An exciting year in wadiSLAM! SO DON'T FORGET! FEB. 11TH AT 9 PM SLAM FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM AND FRIDAY FEB. 13TH AT 7:30 PM JILTED LOVERS SLAM! Hello Everyone and Happy Holiday season!
Well, I'm right now doing a last minute post before I'm off to college visits in Chicago, Boston, and New York! Thought I'd post on the way out and wish everyone a happy belated Thanksgiving and Seasons Greetings. DONT FORGET! BIRTHDAYSLAM! DECEMBER 13th (SATURDAY) @ WADI CAFE 7:30 PM! Be there for lots of fun! DONT FORGET! birthdaySLAM!, celebrating slammaster Lisa's 18th birthday with lots of fun poetry, will be Saturday Dec 13th, 2003 @ 7:30 pm at Wadi cafe on the west side. HELLO EVERYONE!
Hope everyone was able to attend the past spookySLAM! IT WAS AMAZING! What an awesome amount of support from the community. The total attendance was 77 people, and it was standing room only at Wadi that night. We had an awesome slam and open mic. The winner of the spookySLAM! was junior at Signature School Luther Lewis. Hopefully his poetry will be up here soon. It was Luther's first slam, and he came in with a force. Great Job Luther. This next month, the slam has been rescheduled=( Sorry Kids. Everyone around was hella busy on the weekends, with speech meets and drama, so we are having a miniSLAM! on Tuesday November 18th at 5:30 p.m. It will be very laid back and fun, mostly open mic and fun, just a relaxing night of poetry to relaxe everyone from their crazy stressful lives=) So the next big slam will be on Saturday December 13th at 7:30 p.m. It will be the birthdaySLAM! (its on my 18th birthday woo!) and the theme will be celebration, since we are celebrating my birthday. So there's the theme, and as always, you don't have to write on the theme, its just a suggestion, fyi I probably won't write poetry about celebration so don't feel bad if you dont. Also wadiSLAM! is now officially up on PSI's website!!! http://www.slampoetry.com Go to venues and Indiana and check it out! Also, checking the records, I am now holding the record for youngest registered slammaster! I started wadiSLAM! when I was 17! I have yet to tell PSI, but WOO!
